For some people, it is as easy as shutting their eyes and instantaneously fall asleep. How we envy those who possess that ability! If only catching some shut eye could be that easy. Speaking from experience, even after deciding on taking a nap, getting distracted by social media or a quick episode tempts you and next thing you know you have once again added to your sleep backlog. Unnecessary thoughts may also keep you up, while you wish your brain could just relax and shut off already.

Enter essential oils. There are many that help with anxiety and other ailments by enhancing your mood or balancing your mind and inducing sleep through aromatherapy. If used correctly, they can do more, like improve blood circulation.

Three Ways In Which Essential Oils Induce Sleep

#1 Pillow Mist: Lavender & Chamomile
Both lavender and chamomile essential oils help you sleep better as they help treat feelings of stress and anxiety. They are also gentle enough to be in contact with the skin when diluted. Add 15 drops of lavender essential oil and 15 drops of chamomile essential oil to a spray bottle filled with 70 ml distilled water and 30 ml witch hazel extract. Shake well before spritzing this on your pillow and even around the room in which you are sleeping.

#2 Oil Blend: Stress Relieving Oils Applied On Your Feet
The pores on your feet absorb things quickly and pass it on to the rest of your body. That is why it is always so important to keep your feet clean. An oil blend applied to your soles will literally boost blood circulation and make you feel relaxed and ready to pass out. Use 10 ml of a carrier oil like coconut or grapeseed oil and mix it with a few drops of stress alleviating oils like vetiver, lavender, bergamot, clary sage, or ylang ylang.

#3 Aromatherapy: Diffuser
Using a diffuser to spread the aromatic magic of essential oils to get sleep is amazing in order to create the perfect sleepy atmosphere. You could choose the oil of your choice or a mix of oils and just relax. Another effective way to get in on aromatherapy with essential oils is opting for a scented essential oil infused candle. Some of those too feature a special blend just to help you sleep.
