NORWALK, CT — A 46-year-old salon worker was arrested on a warrant by Norwalk police Tuesday in connection with the sexual assault of a juvenile that authorities said occurred this past August.
Karoll Angelina Jurado-Hernandez, an employee of Khronos Beauty Salon on Westport Avenue, was arrested at the salon and charged with second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.
According to Norwalk police, an investigation was launched by the department’s Special Victims Unit on Aug. 24 following a report that a juvenile had been sexually assaulted at the salon.
The investigation revealed that Jurado-Hernandez was the suspect, said Lt. Jared Zwickler.
“Detective LaPak, who was the lead investigator, obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s DNA, which was found to be a match to evidence recovered during the investigation,” Zwickler said. “As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Jurado-Hernandez. SVU Detectives arrested Jurado-Hernandez on February 4, 2020, at Khronos Beauty Salon.”
Jurado-Hernandez, of Tierney Street in Norwalk, was held in lieu of bail of $250,000 and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Feb. 18.
