According to Solvent Extractors Association (SEA) of India data, the import of edible oil is showing revival sign as pipeline stock which was reduced in April-May’20, due to lower import is being partially filled up.Based on the available provisional data for Import of Edible Oils for July 2020 is reported at 1,517,350 tons compared to 1,347,882 tons in July 2019 up by 13%, on YoY basis. This is the highest import in last eleven month of oil year 2019-20. The overall Import of Edible Oils during Nov-2019 to July-2020 is reported at 9,569,336 tons,compared to 10,803,777 tons during the same period of previous year, i.e. down by 11%,mainly due to reduction in import of RBD Palmolein by 82%. The stock of edible oils as on 1st August 2020 at various ports has been estimated at 765,000 tons. The stock has reduced in last three months mainly due to lower import of edible oils.
