Westborough Youth & Family Services and the Westborough Public Schools are pleased to share with you our second installment of the Community Wellness
Guide: Emotional Wellness, Race, Equity. The first guide, released in September focused on the emotional and mental health impact of returning to school and work during the pandemic. This month, our focus is on anti-racism. Nearly all of us have experienced some degree of mental health distress in our lives; our vulnerability to emotional distress is universal. Experiences of racism, however, are not universal, but are uniquely experienced by Black people, Indigenous people and other people of color. We know that racism harms and oppresses people of color, and it perpetuates inequality. This month’s guide provides a range of varied resources for families and a wide age range of students for supported conversations and learning.
